She's in a place I've never been literally and otherwise The miles that stretch out six hundred long will ride like a million until I reach her Upon entering her house of many She may not know me ...at first But I'll stay 'til I see that small flash of recognition behind my favorite pair of brown eyes I'll savor it for it may not last long and her mind will wonder Who is that woman with those brown eyes who holds my hand... she who says to me she loves me more than life itself I'm finally on my way to see my Grandmother...it's been almost nine years. She has alzheimer's now. She may not know me anymore... but just one more chance to touch her cheek, and get some "sugar"...I'd travel right 'round the world for it. |
