Orange Essence ... Captured Slendered long are the thoughts of silken canvas this night Mirrored on orange essence of galaxies in porcelain delight Traced are the fingers on tips of golden specks between kiss Rising in dwell of hazel reflections beckoning night's bliss Cradled are the arms of inspire wrapped in fantasy release Captured between vacuums caressing each blushing crease Flickers of content arch on petals whispered between sighs Cresting liquid barriers confined to passages of jaded eyes Bonds tendered through swirls of lyrics shared upon script Now hidden in restrained chords of scales no longer tipped Melodies of allure rise with aromatic dance lost in thought Searching confines of pleasure within fogged arias caught Inscribed messages prism against the glass of nestled tears Rejoicing in exonerated dreams read within pages of fears Calm are the images bathed in moments of cherished play Residing in the symphony of hearts ... orchestrated this day Mark Christopher Recognize love for the gift it is and not a need that is out of focus. I am still turning this meter over in my mind...and loved the couplets...all strung together--LIKE pearls...and you've got me aching for a sonnet from you--HINT HINT-- I will be back after I linger over this a bit more...I was just admiring the architecture of it here! ![]() |

Slendered long are the thoughts of silken canvas this night Mirrored on orange essence of galaxies in porcelain delight Traced are the fingers on tips of golden specks between kiss Rising in dwell of hazel reflections beckoning night's bliss ================================ Flickers of content arch on petals whispered between sighs Cresting liquid barriers confined to passages of jaded eyes ================================ Now hidden in restrained chords of scales no longer tipped =============================== Searching confines of pleasure within fogged arias caught Inscribed messages prism against the glass of nestled tears Rejoicing in exonerated dreams read within pages of fears ================================= So much to see here...far too much to absorb in one read...you've dreamscaped us a portrait that has sound, scent, taste and touch. As we read the words and envision the images, the scent of oranges, petals, and perfumed soap rise up in the steam of this passionate, romantic write. The candles, the music, the bubbles...who wouldnt want to drown in this ones essence. I love the phrasing and vocab in this, but its the imagery and personification that once again showcases your pens gift. Also the tenderness of a moment like this is well captured, the romantic intend and inspire of such a lovely fantasy. I guess Im going to have to find new words to describe and define the pleasures of reading your poetry, because with each write I see new heights being reached... my replies seem so lacking to capture the true beauty of the essence of your poetry. Or perhaps your work just leaves me overwhelmed and dumbfounded...a moth has her limits ya know, even when trying to worship poetry properly ![]() Flickers of content arch on petals whispered between sighs Cresting liquid barriers confined to passages of jaded eyes its doesnt get much more lovely than that... Exquisite write MC ... but then I've come to expect that from you. ![]() How she loves me, I dont understand |

MarkB~ Captured, Indeed~ 'Inscribed messages prism against the glass of nestled tears' Yes ... the entire piece is beautiful ... but the above line just spoke of something so fragile as to catch this reader in suspended thought~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Exceptional use of metaphors Mark! Splendidly presented all the way through. The images dance in your lines and turn over your selected colors through the spectrum of the reader's mind. A real joy to read.... Inscribed messages prism against the glass of nestled tears Rejoicing in exonerated dreams read within pages of fears Calm are the images bathed in moments of cherished play Residing in the symphony of hearts ... orchestrated this day" What a beautiful and fitting ending! Poetry is a major turn-on, but yours is exceptionally so...I adored it all, but I'll keep "Flickers of content arch on petals whispered between sighs" as the line that affected me the most...wonderful artistry, Mark. you are admired and rightfully so. aloha, my friend, Cher (CSKpoet) Poetry is: |

Perhaps that wasn't a good choice of words Mark. I won't even try to detail that comment now, but lets just suffice it to say that it means it is good to see someone that has such a beautiful heart and isn't afraid to put it to thought...that still doesn't probably make sense......but that's the best I can sum it up. Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal. |

Mark, what can I say? Nothing that can really describe what I think and feel when I read your words. You are an amazing poet, my friend. Well done, as usual. This one is definitely for the library, as Janet says, it needs more than one read. Dee Stand straight and tall, not the reflection as others see you, but as you truely are. Clearwater |

“Slendered long are the thoughts of silken canvas this night” The poor, simple mind of the jingler is not able to fathom the deep words of wisdom spoken by Mark, thy fellow poet. I beg your kind indulgence. Please email the jingler and explain so that I too may be uplifted and share the joy. |

Kit-If you say the imagery and flow is to your liking then I am jumping for joy. Thank you so much for your wonderful words. Greeneyes-Hey there.....so glad to see you as well. She is cute ain't she? Thank you dearly ... your visits are always a treat for me. thejingler-I have chosen to be VERY private in a Very small circle of friends thus no email being posted but fear not.......no email neccessary as the beautiful thing about poetry is the open interpretation from one reader to the next. I will let you know a couple to get you started to where "I" wrote it from and you may take it from there. "Slendered long" - simply legs thus leading us to the "Silken Canvas" being the skin. Hope that helps but don't be shy about taking it to what "YOU" see in the words. Thank you much and welcome to Passions. |

Summer keeps me away, but I am so glad I got to read this as the last poem in Forum #21, what a wonderful way to close a forum by capturing it in orange essence. With each poem you write I wonder can he top that, and somehow you always manage to succeed, and not disappoint us. Simply stunning piece. I pass this way but once, here's hoping I meet you. |
