at six,
my daughter is loosing and getting teeth.
at six,
she would rather talk to her older sister.
at six,
she wants to be a teacher.
at six,
she is in her first year of hockey.
at six,
she smiles like the sun.
at six,
that smile can be a little misleading.
at six,
she has more energy than that friggin pink bunny.
at six,
she can swim in the lake without help.
at six,
she still needs a hug now and then.
at six,
her version of clean is to let water pass her by.
at six,
she is begining to understand evil.
at six,
her questions of why did that happen, and I cannot answer.
at bedtime,
I heard her pray for Samatha.
at ten,
I began to cry.

ohh my.  your daughter is a jewel, you described her in such glowing words!  the end made me think though... there's a lot of bad stuff, evil, out there.  children have more wisdom than most people know.  just keep giving her your amazing love, and i can only hope that her world won't continue to be such a terrible place.
the world's future will be in the hands of a wiser, loving, COMPASSIONATE generation one day...
keep writing.  thanks.

So much pain, happiness and wisdom children will go through and have and this will watch over them the whole way through their lives, all we can do is hope that their happiness and wisdom will beat away the pain ... Lovely poem, just remember that at 6 a child will sometimes understand better than the parent ! - There is a reason for everything; just keep faith in good prevailing . Wonderful poem . L.of.L. Tom .
