Oft times as the night stills The light empties and silence fills, The creeping of little feet Find a soft place in which to sleep. As the highway eases With a glass of wine that to me pleases Sipping sparingly taste The fullness of the flavor not to waste. Oft times as the shadows Becomes darkness upon curtained windows With no breeze to shake No appointment for me to make Just the stillness to surround Till the cat investigates a sound And scurries out of the room, But I know he’ll be returning soon To the rug beside the chair, I‘ll glance down and find him there Fresh from searching sounds Imaginary foes never found As I sip in the stillness Surrounded by midnight’s darkness. Gloom, I like the way you sip the stillness. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

it's nice to have those moments of relaxing, when nothing is on the mind and a cat can draw your attention... mine is too lazy, and has no interest in chasing. M |
