Now gentle Love you guide us in your reign which rules a night whose stars at last align and tiers of passion mirror from it's pane Parched, featureless lone landscape of the plain when winds of oaths, rapt thunder, light entwine, now gentle, Love you guide us in your rain A past too often wasted, spent in vain now forwards to a night where two combine and tears of passion mirror from it's pain Emotions run, wild horses through our veins spent, flared nostrals I whinny near equine now gentle Love, you guide us in your rein Moon who moves the oceans, as this night wanes, hope's passed to Sun with it's reflective shine and tears of passion mirror from it's pane As gods not of this earth two souls ordain our share'd throne in throes of the devine, now gentle Love you guide us in your reign and tears of passion mirror from it's pain "Happy people have no history" - French Proverb |

Richard, Richard, this was indeed one of your very best, the use of the three words in different spellings just shows how very clever you truly are and how you "think" when you write, and reading your poetry always is an exercise to see where your mind might have been while you were writingit, and are fun in themselves. However, to read something this splendid from you doesn't amaze me, it just makes me want to ask you for more. Since the villanelle actually originated in Italy where the men went to get away at a villa and connect with nature once more, how's about doing your speciality - NATURE! This was exquisite, and very clever as well. She is indeed one lucky girl! Nothing means more to me than faith, family and my friends. the saints of moon and sun hold fast to the heart. . . and this would be their song. . . superbly done Sir. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Now gentle Love you guide us in your reign which rules a night whose stars at last align and tiers of passion mirror from it's pane Parched, featureless lone landscape of the plain when winds of oaths, rapt thunder, light entwine, now gentle, Love you guide us in your rain ================================== Moon who moves the oceans, as this night wanes, hope's passed to Sun with it's reflective shine and tears of passion mirror from it's pane ================================= Richard this is outstanding...one of the best of this form Ive seen. The phrasing and language softens the strict structure of the rhyme and created a pure poetry meter, superb read aloud....often these poems read so sharp and rhyme contrived but you wrote above the format and made it look easy when its not. Also impressive is the imagery, as often that too gets lost to the rhyme scheme in these kinds of poems. You write with an elegant intelligence that showcases your obvious natural talent. Excellent poet sir jm |

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is excellent, yes, yes, love can mirror all other things in the world for its essence is a little of everything compromised together and to live like a saint is to feel for one! (sigh) This is an excellent villanelle, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richard, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
