Driveway Roots The clouds like pink cheeks watched me in tender look at sweet old trailer from the good old days so long nested in driveway it grew roots and they tangled in my feelings now Too soon gone the cozy drifting time snuggle against a somewhere else where fragile moon looked in the slanted windows across the table where we sat and talked into the lovely night of this and that Just a step down was another place and more the door to oceans meadows greens and pools of pearls where just a toot and blow and turn around we found the swerve of hitched up often scary moved along We stored our dreams in one small space where summer time would trace our days across the world to fishing holes that pulled us with their lure enclosed and trouble double hook release an open fire and fish such feast no catch release Too soon gone the cozy drifting time snuggle against a somewhere else where fragile moon looked in the slanted windows across the table where we sat and talked into the lovely night of this and that [This message has been edited by Martie (07-16-2002 09:44 AM).] |

We stored are dreams in one small space where summer time would trace our days across the world to fishing holes that pulled us with their lure enclosed and trouble double hook release an open fire and fish such feast no catch release You are so good at this and that when it comes to writing good poetry. Once again you took me there Martie. You're truly something else~ |

lovely I can find no more words, although I wish I could find better. I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement. |

This is gorgeous...although? I must confess...the title conveyed a different reality to me...grin.. mind if I confess? I've a friend...she is in the midst of divorce---(I swear it's my friend! I have never been married--to my knowledge) but yes...she decided to landscape the yard one year, and had the "goodies" put on her driveway--almost 10 years ago! The driveway split and cracked, as they MUST in La. and the crepe myrtle...grin...made itself right at home. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DRIVEWAY. She blames it on HIM, for not clearing the yard. He blames it on her, for ordering what he did not want in the first place. sigh. No one lives there, but the fact remains? IT BLOOMED. (see where ya lead me?) I love ya for that. Love yer work. ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() (smiles) Oh Martie, this is sooooo beautiful, sweet friend, your wonderful words always make me feel like I'm standing out on the widows walk or looking out my window and seeing the peaceful beautiful earth beneath! (kiss on cheek) This is breathtaking, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Oh but I needed this before bed Martie, and I almost thought I was hiding behind a tree watching you it was so vivid. You do "this and that" so very well, that I can only speak for me, but I feel part of it. That oculd be great poetry, yes? Nothing means more to me than faith, |

If I could explain what I mean better, I would. Maybe I should just say, I really like this poem. One blaze of glory - glory |

The cowboy is thinking maybe you need a quick getaway to the "Kern". I know of a rock that once saddled your thoughts in a gaze of wonder as life was presented to us through your finds. Make the time......no matter what it takes. Big hugs to you sweet petal pusher of my heart. Yours is always the perfect way to end a night (morning) and catch my 2 hours sleep and thus now I shall. Recognize love for the gift it is and not a need that is out of focus. |

Martie, I really enjoyed this. You brought me right into your sweet reverie, rooted in the driveway, rooted in your mind. Great composition. Hugs, Joe |

Always there is so much in your work, I much enjoyed this. Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets. ~Arthur Miller |
