A Little Parent-Talk Yesterday I celebrated You. Each moment shared, in memories view. I placed my hands, settled next to yours saw my past as was before and still I noticed more. My hands so like the ones beside, strong yours, mine could have been a match. In your expression I caught one brother, a slight smile..funny because I always thought he didn't belong to us. You use to tease he "looked like the milkman" *wink We have so much in common, maybe that is why growing up I didn't feel that closeness, we were too much alike, sort of competition for one another. I wonder what Freud would make of that. I, being the fourth of five, teased you today. My card saying it could have been worse. I could have been a twin...and you saying back yes me and my younger brother, would that have driven you nuts! I could have been.. since Dad was. I asked if you wanted to visit him and you said, no, not today...so I will wait till you are ready, maybe tomorrow, for the need is in me right now, to feel his strength to hold me up, to promise me that there is always a tomorrow to look forward to. The warmth I feel when I touch his name, tells me he knows I am trying to right the wrongs in my life. We spent this one together, a day of treating each other to like tastes. Although 25 years and two weeks apart, we share the sameness of heart and I only hope that you know how much you mean to me, how much I admire you continuing on with your life and how hard I am trying to be more like you. So many dislike looking in the mirror and seeing the lines of aging, as if they see their Mothers staring back. When I see you in me, it causes a smile because I can't think of one thing you have ever done in your life that would make anyone frown. And that is how I someday would like to be remembered. It was a Happy Day yesterday, mine especially just to spend it with you. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." Lovely, heartfelt write. I love it! Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. [This message has been edited by Interloper (06-13-2002 01:26 PM).] |

Maureen darling girl Exquisite writing darling girl utterly utterly exquisite and you know I love it since I told you earlier. Sometimes we get the chance to tell those we love them that they are indeed loved, and sometimes they aren’t there for us to do it. You have made sure your close family know of your love and this expresses it beautifully. I love it darling girl it is incredibly wonderful. Well written and a perfect birthday gift for both of you. As always Mushy Breathe through the heat of our desire |

M, instantly, i had thoughts of what a poem inspired by my Mom would be like, then, with a jolt of recognition, i realized it would be your poem's words. Scary, isn't it, when someone writes exactly the way a person thought they could never describe by speaking of them? Extraoridinary effort, Maur. You must have an incredible relationship...*big smile* tSR |

My hands so like the ones beside, strong yours, mine could have been a match. This is the loveliest poem of yours that I have ever read, Maureen... Its so nice to see you happy and to see a wonderful mother-daughter relationship. My hands are so much like my mother's also...that almost everyone who knows both of us, notices it. We both have chipmunk hands....we have short arms and legs and small hands...but very long fingers!!!! Thanks for sharing this moment with us. ~ wonderful day hugs Lyra |
