~Pennsylvania~

from our trip back east, last summer

Little towns with rocky ridges
country roads with covered bridges
mountains, valleys, pine tree stands
artistry of nature's hand

bucolic settings, old red barns
amidst tall mountains, country farms
crops, so neatly spaced in rows
stripes of green on soil, exposed

roadways lined with walls of stone
tigerlilies, overgrown
carbon black of rocky ledges
with softened purple clovered edges

wildflowers, out of crannies peeping
groundwater, through the rocks comes seeping
tall bridges spanning upland peaks
look down upon meandering creeks

mountains high and pastures green
the sun sets on this sylvan scene
casting shadows on the hills
nature, in it's purest form....distilled

LYRA this bridge looks like one not ten minutes from my house!!  Bill and I frequent this beautiful bridge very often.  Incredible...and yes of course I am from Pa!!  You have captured the essence of Pa very well!  thank you.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Lyra

You have helped my wanderlust a little with this beautiful picture of your state...but you also got me longing to go.  Hugs!

(smiles) YAY!!! Oh my gosh, I have never been to this wondrous state before but I have seen covered bridges like these in Illinois everywhere, they are so breathtakingly beautiful and Kaskaskia is one of my favorites! (kiss on cheek) This is a magical depiction of a breathtaking state, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Thanks so much, Lady in White...
I grew up in NYC, and whenever we drove back home to visit, my favorite part of the trip was always through Pennsylvania...
its a gorgeous state.
Last summer we drove back east for Victor's wedding and thats when I wrote this poem.

Thanks Donna,  I got that picture off of Webshots and I can't remember now, whether it mentioned Pennsylvania or not.
There are lots of states that have covered bridges.  I know that Vermont and Massachusetts have them and I think that New Hampshire has some also.
But I'm glad you enjoyed the poem...
Pennsylvania is such a beautiful state.

Thanks so much, Martie...
Pennsylvania is a beautiful state but it isn't my home state.  I live in Michigan which is also a beautiful state.

I bet Colorado is beautiful also.  I've never been there, but have always wanted to go.

This poem, so beautifully written, reminds me so much of my home state, New Hampshire. So many covered bridges, 'mountains high and pastures green! Western MA is like this also.

How are you feeling?  Hugs, Marti

Thanks Marti...
It sounds like you come from a beautiful state and I know that you live in one right now.
My sister in law used to live in Vermont and I remember seeing the covered bridges there also.
I am feeling okay except for a bladder infection, which...ironically, might end up killing the cancer cells....
thats the principle of how the vaccines work..
Its a bit frustrating, waiting to find out the information about the requirements for the clinical trial...I intend to get into that trial even if I have to lie my way into it.

Thanks so much, Paul...
Its easy to write about such natural beauty as is displayed all throughout Pennsylvania.
I bet you have been there because its right next to Ohio.
