This sunless morning of clouds and possible rains, To cool the streets and flush out the cluttered drains, Will the wind come to scour the dirty red bricks And shake the trees knocking out the old dead sticks. Will it catch me and drench me as I wait on the street, With nowhere better to go to and no one to meet. Then when rained upon and breeze blown to dry Will any one have noticed this was my time to cry. This sunless morning of clouds and possible rains, Will it flush away my loneliness and lingering pains Scour my sadness with it’s cool and pure drops Making the aching I’m feeling to finally stop Will the rains pass on and clouds give way to the sun, Another day in the light and still being no one. I sit here waiting for the coolness to come for the rains to pour for the cleansing of fresh and the breezes and more... too humid for me...at the moment... *s M |

I really like this. As we have NO rain here, I usually equate MY dry spell romantically with that...hmm...should I ever see rain again, I will think of this poem and wonder. |
