Waves roll, crest, fall on sandy shore like the sweep of a hand of time Never ending, ceasing to tell endless flow of a seashore rhyme A moon rises to chase the sun into the sky of silver night Darkness comes onto the warm earth hiding all things from vision’s sight Winds blow across the sea singing a tune of time and long ago Whispering chants of sailing men as each ebbtide does softly flow Bring me the sail of salty sea the creak of main and mizzen mast Sing to me a tale, two or three ‘til the last voyage is done and past. You do the sea so very well, with just the right touch of nostalgia and romanticism. Cor |
