The Depth of Greeneyes By Larry Chadwick It wasn’t those green eyes, As rich as they are. Or those luscious lips, The fullest by far. It was in the heart And beauty of her words, That she revealed What my soul heard. For it was only looks, That are skin deep. But true beauty, Can make us weep. Tender gentle thoughts, Revealed by what she writes. Pain and sensitivity, Exposed by this lifes frights. Truth requires bravery, And that she oft’ reveals. It’s what is deep inside, That to my mind appeals. January 27, 2002 If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
