I'm a procrastinator
Always making people wait
It's been this way since early years
And seems to be my fate

When I was just an embryo
In that warm and comfy space
I finished all the novels there
Before I left that place

My mother dear was frantic
No one should have to bear
A long-winding pregnancy
That lasts nearly a year

In grade school I was slower
A lot behind the rest
Not stupid, but just intr'sted
In everything I guess

In my time of college
I was always referred
To the one who's always late
And passes by deferred

When people call me up
I say about an hour
They know they must wait up to three
That's procrastinator's power

At work the tasks I don't like
Are put off for the day
While doing things important
At least that's what I say

When my life is ended
And I pass beyond the veil
I know the epitaph will read
The late, LATE Mrs Dale

Even now while I am writing
Poetry for you
I'm really just postponing
All the things I have to do

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Keth beloved heart sister and hanger of the stars light, your writing is always special you know exactly how to cheer your audience. This is the perfect poem to post right now. Something to summon a smile when the relief of laughter is needed.

As always beloved heart I love it love it love it. The flow perfect the meter divine and your trade mark of quality stamped firmly on this precious gem of delight

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Hey Kethry,
I am the King of Procrastation!!!! Never do today what you can leave until tomorrow.
I just about fell off the chair when I read the line 'The late LATE Mrs Dale' !!!
You have put into words the way I am sure many of us really are, if the truth was known!, and put together so perfectly. In any case, I am putting off my funeral for a very long time.
Kind thoughts,
John

(sigh) This place always has a special spirit I can't refuse, sweet friend, this is lovely, we all love you so much!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hi Kethry, I can relate to that; I'm trying to do better(smile).  I thought I was looking in a mirror, somewhat, while reading you poem.  Thanks for sharing encouraging words ,too!  I'll finish this later...(smiles)

Kethry - you sure hit the nail on the head. After reading this write, I need to stop doing the procrastinating, and start doing the writing to get this book completed...

Yep, you sure hit home with this one. Are we just one big world of procrastinators? It seems we are. This is a delightful take on it. Enjoyed. I read it while I was putting off my housework this morning.

There are a million messages,
in a million bottles,
you just have to know
which one to pull out of the ocean.
