Having faith doesn’t mean I don’t have to know or understand or that I cannot seek It may not even mean I believe It may mean I learned or experienced Do I still need to believe to find meaning for me Meaning is something all of us need As I pondered doctrine dogma and creeds I didn’t find meaning but said “I believe” That’s not enough my spirit cried for more Seek, seek, and then seek some more Find meaning in knowing Find meaning in searching Find meaning in doubt There is still some mystery I don’t know it all All loving is special and answers a lot I know love is so necessary All powerful - I have never seen All loving there might be.. I don’t have the answer just yet Sometimes I am not sure what the question should be Don’t tell me have faith when we just do not know Your pat answers have failed me Your simplicity is empty My meaning is surviving just fine My questions of belief [This message has been edited by Goodknight (07-12-2002 08:39 PM).] |

WOW!!! This is powerfully thought-provoking, sweet friend, I too have these kind of thoughts every now and then and I guess the best way to answer these kind of questions is not to believe necessarily but seek the meaning of believing and furthermore find the significance in the meaning! (sigh) It can indeed be confusing but I know as long as you follow your heart all the most important beliefs will comfort you, sweet friend, this is excellent, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Hi Paul I think you have found the answer that I have...and that is simply to ask the question. if I could just touch this magic with a pure and perfect thought then I would know what the river knows, but it flows it flows so fast and is gone now moving towards the sea toward the larger answer to a question that I don’t know how to ask. Enjoyed the thoughts behind this. |

Martie - what a lovely poem and thanks for the thoughtful words - yes keep asking and don't be distracted by the doctrine and dogma - embrace the ambiguity and love the search - Thanks Paul |
