Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-07-11 09:43 PM

Nearing Prime Time

Certainly, there
comes a
time
when age
reaches
touches
and transforms
what was vibrant

into beautiful.

With grace,
age joins
the heart,
enlarges it so,
taking in
all,

smiles show
‘round her eyes
graying hair
tells of wisdom
learned

a softness comes
to her arms,
to her embrace

for she has tenderly
held babies
sisters, brothers
friends, family
and a lover,

but true age
is seen in hands ~
strength
comes to her
fingertips

when she looses her
grip

and lets goodness fly

softly now,
gently, just so,
she picks up
a pen
lets thought go

black lines
skim pages
thoughts ramble
reflection wages
skirmishes of battles won
who is here,
after all,
with the final laugh?

By and through
the grace of God
the aging process
will go on
and with retention
of memory
she will carry on

for you see

she carries on
in light of hope
for the breathe of you,
and the light of me.

She was beauty
in your eyes;
you saw
into her soul;
which carried through
in voice
that by which was
her choice;

and with time,
she came to realize
what comprises
all surprises

age.

She would not trade
one younger day for it.
She glows in
billowing twilight

more so than
when she gave birth

more now than
when told she had worth

even more, now,
as she looks at her hands
etched with time
and looks forward to fall.

(smiles) YAY!!! Oh Karilea, I too would never trade a day ahead, for I dream ever so much of what lies ahead for me and I want to just live each day to the fullest so then until the time comes where I can love and raise a family and all of that I can learn further to see the simple beauties of grace life bears! (sigh) This is a beautiful timeless and ageless poem, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much, this is a true gem!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

quietly
patiently
we are blooms
waiting
thankful to be a perennial
and grateful to drink a sun's look
to open us up

Karilea, your poetry here
is without equal, and
describes perfectly
the maturing of life

Ageless wisdom. Useless to regret our pasts but priceless to share what we've gleaned from them. Enjoyed indeed.

This is an absolutely awesome poem, Karilea.
It portrays the maturity of women, so beautifully.
Indeed, I would never want to be young again....even if it meant that my tummy would be perfectly flat.
I posted a poem here which is of similar subject...probably a few months ago.
I will re-post it for you tomorrow because I have already posted 3 poems today.

Karilea,
I have no words...beautiful.
I can only HOPE that I have aged with the same grace and wisdom that you have.  You are precious.  thank you.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Exquisite covers it!  However, this is not moi, ..."we are blooms waiting thankful to be a perennial..."  I have a little bit of a hard time being thankful but I am trying   This was stunning, verse and of course the graphic enhanced it.
