Cast me into the waters of living, Applaud loud the splash before my drowning, Bound my chains I’ve made in silent darkness, Watch the pool slowly return to smoothness As I sink to the muck of the bottom Calmly accepting fate to remove me Knowing I’ll soon be gone and forgotten As if a death will finally make free. But these are just a flooding of old tears, The muck has dried to nothing but fine dust There is no escape from life or of fears, Those iron chains have turned to piles of rust The was no splashing or sounds rebounding, No acceptance of fate that I’d wish to be, Only dreams of night dashed by light’s blinding, As if living will finally make free. ...Only dreams of night dashed by light’s blinding, As if living will finally make free. Always, always that sense of hope...I cannot rid myself of it, and certainly, neither can you...thanks for the read, Professor...I always take away something from your poetry...always.... |
