Postponing Goodbye I was reading letters From moments in time When words reached Heart touching mine Messages were many Desires flowing then Memories do remain Of where and when So now I’m clinging Yes, its foolish of me To continue desiring Of what cannot be Postponing goodbye Hanging suspended Before heart breaks Knowing its ended Hope © 2002 |

.... my heart bleeds, because I know the pain/anger/lonliness of missing th someone trapped in letters, trapped in a time when all you need was them.... maybe we still need them. Beautiful poem.... |

Hope...this is an excellent piece, but I hope that you find the courage to say goodbye. I have always found that the best way to end things is with a swift slice... From the look of your replies...I think I am unusual... but, it has served me well because I don't think I have had much romantic heartbreak in my life... so please, try to find the courage to end it because hanging on is so much more painful and drags the pain on for much longer. ~ sympathetic hugsLyra |
