Northern Lights In darkness of the polar skies A light appears to watchful eyes From corners of an icy land It reaches out its golden hand T’was said a thread of lightening speared The crystal ice, and there appeared A rainbow flashing round the earth And Northern Lights were given birth The colors crossed the black of space And shown like prisms on my face Their fingers spread in blue and gold And touched each heart from pole to pole In seasons of the equinox Alaskan nighttime sky unlocks A wealth of colors which unfurl Extending peace around the world Tranquility pours into eyes Of those who watch the Polar skies Unrest and turmoil still abound In eyes fixed only on the ground Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (07-10-2002 05:33 AM).] |

This is exquisite. Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal. |

Very beautiful piece you give us and though I've not seen them myself (yet), I feel as if I have a memory of them through your words. Your cadence and rhyme are flawless as always and well..........imagery and the soft way you bring it to us has always been the most enjoyable to me. Excellent!!! |

(smiles) YAY!!! Ooohhhhhh...I love this, sweet friend, I live far south of the Canadian border so I hardly have ever gotten to see the aurora borealis, but I bet it must be so breathtaking! (kiss on cheek) I love this, sweet friend, we all love you so much, YAY!!! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Until I see them, I'll know them through your words. *S* This is beautiful, Elizabeth! |
