Where her eyes once told of innocence Now remains an empty void, She has broken the path of her destiny the blue prints of her life, destroyed. As her freedom was ripped from her womb She helplessly watched it die. Silently, she mourned the loss… Her silence muted by the infants’ cry. Chained forever to her choice Her life is no longer her own Her lively dreams wilted with each breath Like a mystery, forever unknown Questions remained unanswered As she looked at her reflection in dismay Who was the old woman staring back at her? She was only eighteen that day. What is past is prologue; what to come, In yours and my discharge. [This message has been edited by Lady Lost (07-07-2002 12:29 PM).] |

... Why is it that in the earliest years of our lifes; we are forced to make some of the biggest desicions we will ever make - some of these desicions will change us forever yet we have to make them ... I loved your poem, so inspiring; i enjoy reading a poem that talks about a painful and usualy well left alone area - your writing is fantastic, I don't think I've read anything else you've written - I shall have to find some now . This is such a great poem, I can't believe so few people have bothered to reply - oh well, lets hope they do when I send it back up . Probably one of the best reads I've had in months . L.of.L. Tom . Lady Lost Some of the best growth comes from a bitter seed. The sadness in this is told so well. Peace to you. |

So very real. Decisions of this type never come easy. Chained forever to her choice Her life is no longer her own Her lively dreams wilted with each breath Like a mystery, forever unknown What a great verse |
