Rains Of Life {more of my wandering thoughts} Sounds of rain drift gently from the skies, splashing through the trees making their descent landing upon the parched soils of earth. Greedily the thirsty land partakes of the nectar falling from the heavens of passing time. Distant thunder rolls ominous across the gray mist horizon. Clouds unleashing fury relentless sheets, down pour upon the Earth Mother~ constant is her smile in appreciation for the quenching of summer storms as she drinks from the rains of life. Listen, oh yes, I listen, and in these moments peace abounds tranquility surrounds and my soal soars. 07-09-02 Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal. {on the wings of words are spirits fly...and our souls are free~me} You can view more beautiful pics at www.webshots.com [This message has been edited by Gentle Spirit (07-09-2002 08:31 PM).] |

wandering thoughts are the best kind... they usually guide the pen. a tranquil scene that i wish i was a part of... it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown |

I like the imagery. I like the way you describe the rain. Cold hands means a warm heart |

Oh this is beautiful, Donna.... I love thunderstorms too! We had a tremendous one here, last night.... The lightning bolts came right through the skylights in our livingroom and looked like they hit the floor. I wonder, if someone had been standing under the skylight...if they would have been struck by the lightning? ~ thundery hugs Lyra |

I love the smell of freshness that rain brings. It really is the gift of life for so many things. You make writting seem so easy. Wonderful thoughts. |

I had the chance to experience a lightning storm Sunday night that was so awesome, it held me for an hour just watching...bolts shooting sideways, streaming in all directions...I wish I could have gotten pictures. Nice poem. |

MS, how correct you are. I think thats when the best stuff gets written is when we let our minds wander. Thanks for wandering with me. Loner, thank you. Sitting in the middle of a rain storm sure does give for some great inspirition. Lyra to bad you couldn't have gotten pics. That would have been awesome. Glad you enjoyed hon, and thanks for stopping in. Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal. |

Paul writing isn't always easy, sometimes its rather hard but then there are times when the inspiration hits that it almost seems easy.....lol......makes no sense but that's the way it happens. I am glad you enjoy my words. PS, that would have been amazing to watch. Lightning can not only be threatening, but yet beautiful at the same time. Thanks for stopping by, appreciate the visits. |

I really enjoy the rain if I don't have to work in it...and I like it when the wind is blowing about 20 mph...James |

Listen, oh yes, I listen, and in these moments peace abounds tranquility surrounds and my soal soars ===================================== I believe that it is "His" intend to not only quench the soil, but us as well in the little summer storms. Those last lines of yours say it all and if someone misses out on the beauty and peace of a storm then I can only feel sorrow for them. Very good write and of course a great subject to pen. |
