It's Just Sex She sleeps with each new boyfriend, that she not be rejected first. She’s learned to feed their appetites, but knows that in so she is cursed. She equates love with touch and feel, but in truth, knows there’s so much more. She often sacrifices self. Her body, heart, often at war. Their interest is hard to keep, unless she spends the night with them. She’s told me how many it’s been. It is thirty five, counting him. It’s true that I am getting old and morals changed over the years, but seems the more that they have changed, the more I’ve seen a woman’s tears. Chivalry and respect are gone. The few men left, a dying breed. “I’ll pull the chair out for myself. Don’t hold the door, there is no need.” The times may change, but not the heart. It still needs touch, a warm embrace. A woman still needs to be held, the falling tears, kissed from her face. Each night I hold this dear friend close, wipe tears away and stroke her hair. She speaks of her next boyfriend, how she hopes he will really care. (This is a true story, unfortunately) [This message has been edited by Auguste (07-03-2002 03:27 PM).] |

She's not alone... so many are looking for love in all the wrong places... and losing themselves in the process. Excellent write. *S* |

Isn't this sad?....But so true in so many ways....I think feelings have deteriated, conscience has deteriated, and so many young gals think that the bedroom is the way to love.....I think the older one gets, the more they realize that sex is far less important than companionship and love....well done bud....and alot of wisdom also.... |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Michael, this is so very heartbreaking, sweet friend, it oo saddens me to see so many men take advantage of women and have them only for sexual vows when the whole meaning of love is taken for granted! (sigh) I have desires too, but I want to love from the heart and make my dream girl so very happy and be there when she is sad and aching and help her then too and listen to her! (sad sigh) This is sadly heartfelt, sweet friend, my heart goes out to her, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Michael, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Michael, you've hit it right on with this one. How very very true...but, also SO sad. Young people now think sex is love, and love is sex,..and to top it off, to be given so easily, at such a tender age. I hope this young person you are speaking of listens to you Michael. Well done poet sir. ~gentle hugs~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |

I've seen this more and more through the years. It's a sad thing to not know the difference, and to not know your own self-worth. Good poem. Nan |

I think th' same is true with guys. At least truthful ones -- th' need for love and t' be held now and again. "Chivalry is just a remnant of patriarchal oppression." That's a quote from a really cool online strip (Ozy and Millie), and my girlfriend says it now and again. No wonder I love her so much. Well wishes. Well, it's too bad she can't see the forest for the trees....you're right there and would be the best companion she could ever have. Amazing how what's obvious hides so well........There's so much truth in this write and yes, morals have all gone to hell!! |

Hi everyone and thank you dearly for your kind replies. This is about a friend on a quest to find the right guy. Problem is, each one so far has been a loser and yet she's given herself physically to each of them. Needless to say, she comes away feeling used, even though she allowed herself to be in that situation. In my opinion, this is not becoming a kinder, more gentle world. It's becoming one where respect for women and romance are no longer part of the dating experience. *hugs* to all! Michael |
