Behind The Camera

You couldn't know that it was I
behind the camera, quietly loving you,
saying things you couldn't hear,
things I wish I could say and do.

You couldn't know, perched upon that rock
in silly hat, sandaled shoes, jeans and such,
that I'd remember you; remember You,
the dream I longed to live.

You couldn't see inside my heart
shadowed as it was by one you thought you knew,
you couldn't know that it was I
whispering words I longed to say to you.

You couldn't know the time you spend
within these thoughts of mine,
You couldn't know that miles away
I'd still be sharing my heart with you.

You couldn't hear my whispered words,
throbbing heart, or feel my aching soul,
but these eyes beheld a breath of love,
and Things Remembered, are what I dearly hold.

....inspiration from 1Slick's picture, whose hat I don't really think is "silly" (you just don't tell a woman her hat is silly!) - the words just "rang" so well...hee, hee... (really, I DON'T think it's silly 1Slick) Tee-hee...
