I

her eyes hold all the miles
from there to here

waiting
she finds a moment of peace
while a gray sunset
brightens the shadows

she turns and sees me
making note of this moment

we share a smile
and suddenly
          the miles don't seem
                    like so many any more

II

reading

she remembers something
something that
          she forgot
                    to write down

intent on not forgetting
she rummages for her notebook

and I wonder

is she writing
          about me
                    as I write
                              about her?

Simply lovely, Sven Pen.
I think this one has to have a space in my library.

Sven hi there, these are perfectly lovely no one writes these as well as you do it is an education simply reading the way you let the words trickle over the page I love it. Really excellent writing the form is ideal and the presentation cannot be faulted. Well written dear friend well written indeed. This is definitely a keeper

I can see a continuing story line in this Sven.  Small stories, big stories, I love em!  How many times has the poet ever rummaged for his/her notebook?  I don't go anywhere without mine.
wonderful

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

hello. . . and thanks to all. . .

these are called "waitings" simply because they were written while I was somewhere waiting. . . I take these times to look around, and to notice the people around me. . . and, I caputre them here, in these words. . . sort of like a picture, but. . . something a little more. . .

thanks again. . .

sometimes I wonder the same thing...

just in case you didn't notice, I had to unearth your work.

PS..I'd love to send you e-mail, but finding time to read  your old work is so much more fun.
