Forgiving is harder then it looks,
Letting go of what has happened is hard as well.
If I'm suppose to let go and forgive
Was I to be hurt in the prossess?
You were my best friend,
Well I thought you were.
Till I look back on the time we shared,
I never saw this coming,
I ask my self why our friendship ended.
I try and mend things in my heart,
But I still can't forget you,
I still can't forget our friendship,
I still can't let you go.
You always had a big piece of my heart,
that I can't seem to replace.
So I'll store you away in my heart,
Never to be forgotten,
but not ready to forgive what you did.
I always wish one day I will forgive you,
and I will be able to move on.
But when that day comes,
I hope that we can be friends.
But until that day,
I will always pray for your happness in life,
and wait until you and I can be friends,
When I'm ready to forgive you
and let you back in.

Very touching Belle. I read this quote once and I don't remember who said it, but I remember how it made me feel.
"forgiving is not forgetting, it is letting go of the pain" So true in many ways, even still letting go can be hard. It comes only when we are ready....
Nice write, well done, enjoyed immensely.

Belle, I've been through this too... and I also didn't saw it come... what helped me through, was every time I felt the pain, I said to myself: "I let you (my friend)free in love and peace!" And I put a happy thought in it's place. It was still dificult but it made me feel better.

Your poem was some kind of deja vu!
