I'm not a poet anymore. The connection between pen and soul, severed. The wellspring of emotion, dried to the barreness of nothing. The vision between heart and mind,gone. I'm not a poet anymore. I'm not a poet anymore. Scents no longer summon passion. Music, a forgotten echo in an empty heart. Eyes seeing only the mundane. I'm not a poet anymore. I'm not a poet anymore. Once every scrap of paper was a challenge. Once words flowed like a swollen river. Once it saved my sanity, but I'm not a poet anymore. |

you can't ever not be a poet for poetry is more than words and pen poetry is life and blood flowing from the soul and from the heart in words that speak and sing in languages that are still yet unknown you can't ever not be a poet for poetry is the very air that you breathe the very food that you eat the very water that you drink you move through it as you move through your days sometimes slowly and with great effort and other times very quickly and with flowing feelings of joy you can't ever not be a poet for the Muse is never silent oh yes, there are times where we can't hear her but, those are just the times dear Writer where we have to be just a little quieter to hear the words that she speaks you can't ever not be a poet it's what you've always been for although you feel that your songs no longer come and you feel that inspiration has escaped your heart there are always the words wow. . . well Paula, see what you have wrought?? it's like I say, once a poet, always a poet. . . hope that you're doing better. . . drop by again soon. . . ---------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person.
