I have taken punches for less than this--I loved. I have taken punches-- for less than this...I loved. I have kissed with swollen lip-- I've licked the teeth of my own blood. I felt the tear of my own hair-- and felt a lesser moment, loved? I tasted salt upon the burn-- I swore I tasted lesson learned... tears in drip upon split lip-- I love too much, for less than this. I have learned to paint one eye in all the tears a rainbow cries--- I know yellow greens of hues... less than this--shades of bruise. A purpling of soul--I wake-- contusion of myself--forsaked. God KA...only you could write this kind of pain so damn beautifully....only you could turn the blacks and blues in to poetry. if only we could rhyme away the pain.... I love too much, for less than this. you just answered your own question baby... ( and yes I know... KNOWING it and living it is two different things) LOVE YOU baby...and you are not less than this!! sometimes life makes us settle for less.   |
