Acidic tears impregnated In iron fisted steel Pitted in shear determination Gravitating in voids of fluid power Rusting away the barriers to contain Sculpturing a nest of hornet stings Jagged entrails in viscus juices Eating away the confinement of wills In dandruff that flakes In that age of change Wrinkles set in stone Also weather age The force a billion winds Have etched contours of dimensions Each jagged perch abuts It finger of longevity To point the way to stubborn heights While the sand falls away Or is blown into a new face So change will come about In the strongest elements Even in miniscule time frames For what was at the beginning of time Will be wrinkled on its exit With a new face Email me at [email protected] D.Lester Young (06/11/02) Tuscaloosa, AL Copyright © D.Lester Young (White Eagle poetry) http://www.authorsden.com/visit/author.asp?AuthorID=5012 [This message has been edited by D.Lester Young (06-11-2002 07:11 PM).] |

I liked this, maybe a bit graphic in the beginning, but a very poignant ending. Makes one think about the process of age and how much it takes to get there. Good comparisons. |
