As dreams slip away at the break of day, reality takes its hold. The velvety night can blind your sight; and life can never seem cold We meet dear friend; there is no end to the joy we find on the screen We offer halloo, but nary a boo to those we’ve never seen. We praise, we coo we sometimes woo, the name we hold so dear We clutch them close; it’s like a dose of a potion, bright and clear It’s like a party, all are hearty, welcoming and warm We smile and wave, we are so brave, likes bees in a buzzing swarm Our life on the net is fun, you bet; no need to clean the house We log, we click even when sick, perhaps we’ll find a spouse And then some day in a funny way, the name’s no longer there So why be glum, just trust me chum, all you did was care These dreams die hard, you silly bard, beware the night of the net You must recall to love at all, it’s better when you’ve met. Begin your dream and it’ll seem like the fuzzy warmth of hope But keep in mind, the care you find, may end in the night, you dope. So if you savor someone’s favor, rejoice for all your worth And be at ease if you please, laugh and chuckle with mirth And if someday, she’s gone away, give thanks for what you had Still what you view, that pale hue, somehow seems so sad Through rubble and trouble and dark of night The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light [This message has been edited by kayjay (06-28-2002 03:29 PM).] |

kayjay, Ok, so they won't be there next time and I'll never know why. But I enjoyed knowing them while they were on. And I liked your poem, too. It had a really good rhythm, and I loved the way you called me a dope! Extremely effective use of language. Nan |

KayJay, why talk to yourself, all alone there in the night? Seems to me you've found the key in the blue twilight... No need for you to rant and rave, until the poem is writ from mind then save to post upon the host, then sleep, for you've left your wit behind |

Very well done Ken.. And oh how true this is! How many do we meet and laugh with, on the net... and suddenly they are gone as fast as they appeared. Excellent write! ~Hugs, Nancy~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |

You must recall to love at all, it's better when you've met. ============================== A hard learned lesson that many never learn in the world of "cyber love" Still what you view, that pale hue, somehow seems so sad my sentiments exactly... wisdom set to rhyme... welcome to Poetry Land kayjay nice to "meet" you. jm When your own emptiness is all thats getting through, There comes a point when youre not sure why youre still talking, I passed that point long ago. (big hugggssssss) Oh Kayjay, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, I believe when we are young and just growing on to adulthood it is perfectly fine to find dates on the Internet, but I feel as we get older it becomes much less likely we'll be satisfied finding someone by a modem! (sigh) This is powerfully expressed, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet KayJay, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! This is superb! *S* I love the rhyme scheme you've chosen... the subject matter may be sad, but it's a joy to read. *S* |

Some things work...some things don't. Most of the time, its all in the face to face. I love this. How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so. |

kayjay, I liked this you have a delightful rhyming scheme, and the internal rhyme was perfect. Kethry Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |
