I would like to make a challenge to all in the same way bsquirrel did some time ago. You can write however you like, but the poem must contain the line:

A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands

If you're not yourself, then there is no you.

I'll pick up your gauntlet, Sir.

"A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands."

You think you’ve got it bad, you say.
Just change your view and look this way.

There are some blessed and some are not,
yet all make do with what they’ve got.

He knows whatever can go wrong,
Will come to him before too long.

He tries to cope with life’s demands,
a blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands.

A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands
Should never shoe a horse
A politician with a heart
Should never run of course

But who set the limits on these lives
Who said it’s better to stand tall?
Who said we can’t embrace those things
That make us different after all?

Interesting line...I would love to see more of these challenges.

I am impressed. I wasn't expecting anyone to take this one so soon. I so enjoyed reading these.
I will also enjoy writing my own poem for this one. It may take me a minute or two to think of the lines to accompany this one. It is a rather interesting one for sure.
Thanks for your wonderful writes!!

callings path taken, his expression shaken
shattering glass hands breaking over whims thought
the smoke doesnt rise, and the metal lays still
all on a whim his art forgotten, bought

smoky black robes whistled by calling
his name and his troubles, the working mans art
they offered him solace a way home in the dark
all he had to do was give up his heart

he made the agreement signed the dotted line
the last time he would use his hands though he knew it not
the last letter written his hands shaking and cold
beginning to harden a painful debut of gold

a blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands
his life forever ruined on a whim
finding solace he sold his art
the black clad figure having mistaken it for his heart

Hope this is what you wanted

As a broken ship,
Not to explore the distant lands.
A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands
A person coping with fate's demands.
Never to work the steel again,
But he wrote of his fate,
The answer is,
Just pick up the pen.

Cecil Taylor plays piano like
A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands.
He’s awful as a soloist
And even worse with bands.
It’s only jazz, and in the end
It probably doesn’t matter,
But when porcelain meets ivory
It's my ears that shatter!

“A Blacksmith cursed with Porcelain hands” (challenge)

There’s truly nothing sadder
Than this story I will tell
Of the poorest man I’ve met
A ways off by a well

He has a name- unknown to me
This poor wayfaring man
The only thing I know of him
Is the character of his hands

The blackest rim of grime I saw
Ringed his fingers round
A blacksmith cursed with porcelain hands
Mistakes he makes confound

The saddest look upon his face
Had caught me in one glance
I saw this soul and now I know
He hasn’t got a chance

I think him so, because I think him so."
