I am pragmatic and inventive
I wonder if anyone remembers me
I hear pink elephants sneezing
I see knights astride stars
I want sleep
I am pragmatic and inventive

I pretend to listen to my wife
I feel overwhelmed
I touch the souls of departed saints
I worry that I may not survive the holidays
I cry during Extreme Home Makeover
I am pragmatic and inventive

I understand absolute truth
I say what needs to be said
I dream of times past
I try to be nice
I hope for peace
I am pragmatic and inventive

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

I cry during Extreme Home Makeover too. I think it's either the music or the fact that Ty Pennington makes a lot of people cry. Not sure.
