I have a challege-if you chose to accept it. It is simply to write a poem in blank verse about what you think a poet is.This message will self destruct in 10 seconds, so good luck. I'll start it off by posting a poem later today. ~Jill |

A Poet is.. A warm heart, bleeding on a cold page, Churning life in words until it feels Touchable by man or beast And trippable to taste upon a tongue. A lost heart longing for a mate Caught fast in a yearning song Where letters seem the lullaby that fits the moment perfectly. A free heart, dancing on the wind That spies the good in everything And spells it by its name In lilting lines for all to see A rose heart, by any hearty word Who writes as sweet and there’s The rub - a poet is all those above And many hearts besides. |

*note* I really haven't mastered iambic pentameter,so..a few...lines are not the proper format-Sorry...I know sad,my challenge, but can't do it properly...Well take it as it is and enjoy. --------------------- The Truth Behind the Poet Poets are people who wear their hearts on their sleeves emoding their feelings with the stroke of their pen writing with the blood that flows through their veins expressing themselves with passion running deep They represent the best and the worst within with words so tender yet brash with a bite full of compassion so beautiful and pure just like the eyes, they shed light in the dark Releasing the thoughts that plague the mind they soften up the heart with gentle kisses lifting the spirit with a smile so wide that it helps heal the soul with it's warm embrace Lending a hand to the discheveled, lost souls they welcome with love, a sense of friendship picking up the pieces shattered on the ground removing the shadows that clouded their sight A poet is God's gift to our clouded earth speaking in tongues of understanding truths they give themselves freely to the powers that be opening their hearts to the message of hope |
