Nochtdraco is writing a sestina. My challenge is that we ALL write one!

Ok..rules..none...other than it cannot be one you've previously posted here. Second rule....must be posted by October 1.

The next challenge will be due October 15 - a Villanelle! (again no previously posted work)

Due October 31 (let's make this a Halloween one!) - Pantoum!

November 15 - a sonnet

November 30 - a haiku

Thanks, Madam deVine! I was beginning to feel lonely in my structured little world! Now I have OTHERS to share my misery ... (maniacal laughter)

I predict that if I keep trying to turn out this rigid structured stuff, I will eventually start writing free verse simply due to burnout! A win-win situation!

Let's see who bites this hook, shall we ..?

You have got to be joking! A sestina in a week? God, why does Poet deVine so love to punish people. I might make the haiku deadline though (if I work and study really hard)

Ok, at the risk of sounding stupid, could you explain what exactly each of these poem types entails? The onl;y one I have even the remotest clue about is the haiku......

Thanks
