We sit at opposite ends of the oak table. My hyper fingers are running through its cracks. As my other hand gets lost in a jungle of sun-kissed locks. Underneath, high top Nikes play tag with a pair of black mary janes. Reaching into my pocket, I pull out Avon lipgloss in Lolita, a lovely blend of peach and strawberry. Pulling out the magic wand I am careful to spread just enough across my chapped lips. You smile at me. Right front tooth chipped from that basketball game last summer. It's still perfect to me. You lean over the cracked oak table to get closer to my chapped lips. My chest tightens. My eyelids are a brush fire. I always blush when I'm nervous. Are you nervous? I don't think so. The ice in your eyes tells me you do this all the time. Is that a good thing? Should I be worried about that. Leaning closer still, I can feel the breath sliding through where the rest of the tooth once was. Lips are introduced and get friendly fast. Tongues play a child's game of hide and seek in a grown up manner. I can't get enough. It only last seconds, my worries are bullied, and thrown back in my mind. I still want more, but you pull back. Sitting on your chair as though the world was flying by all around you and you didn't care, you flash another glimpse of a perfect smile and one unforgettable chipped tooth. Sorry, it's all I could think of for this very cool challenge. ~Susie ~*~Born to Blossom and Bloom to Perish~*~ |
