I'm a wanderer, a nomad...I don't live in one particular area, Just wherever I end up.

The date is quickly approaching. To those of you who don't know me, or don't know yet... I am due to have a baby in December. I have an unfortunate case of writers block that has been plaguing me for months now, and I am in desperate need of a poem to help welcome my child into this world.  And with so much talent flourishing throughout these forums, I simply couldn't resist asking all of you for help. This poem will be in the birth announcements and also I will put one in the baby book, for my daughter to read when she gets older. I will give credit where credit is due, and if you like, I can send the announcement to you as well. Thank you so much in advance for your help, and great appreciation will be held.

Can I call you Kimberlee...started to abbreviate, but I didn't want to call you SM, or Sorrow, or for that matter, Mystress, lol...so this makes it a bit easier...

and in answer to your request, I am not up to that challenge, but there is a beautiful song, by John Lennon, from the Imagine album,
called "Oh My Love"--and that is what I sang to my babies...I will try to hunt down the lyrics for you, okay?  Hugs to you, and much good fortune for your future!

Here's one I wrote for a friend's baby, feel free to use it and change the name and gender. God bless you and may you and your baby be healthy and happy. Love, Ellie

Once in a heavenly moment in time,
a precious child was born.
“Alexander Paul Baptista”
Before his dear little face
was beheld by those who love him so,
the Angels  sang to him and gave their
blessings.
They sang him a song of God’s Love,
a song that lives now within his heart.
The Angels placed upon his lips,
a kiss of courage,a kiss of truth,
so he would always be true to himself.
The Angels placed a blessing deep in his heart,
that he would always know that loving himself,
and loving others,
with compassion and understanding,
is the greatest gift of all.
This Angels song is now his alone.
They gave him then their final blessing.
That Alexander would always sing
his own true song of Love,
that would reach the stars in heaven above,
and change the universe forever more.

After Ellie's absolutely magnificent poem, I am embarrassed at this meager offering, but here it is:

Angel Child

In the mist of early morn
This child of God was sweetly born
And placed in warmth of child’s bed
With halo arc around his head

Soon to suckle mother’s milk
Swaddled in a cloth of silk
On mother’s  face contentment worn
The day her little child was born

Newborn eyes and cherub face
Angel child full of grace

Well now I know that I have a tough act to follow! Here is my contribution!

(Baby’s Name)
You came to me from the heavens,
a celestial spirit,
a creation of the cosmos,
a gift from God.

Your smile is a brilliant star,
to brighten our darkest nights,
Your hair, blazing rays of sunlight,
to warm our hearts.

I am in awe of your perfection,
as I hold you close and breathe
your familiar scent, like wildflowers
on perfect fingers, perfect toes, tiny lips.

All the world is yours,
the rise and fall of the oceans,
the towering mountains,
the gentle wind brushing against your cheek.

Together, we’ll build a beautiful palace
from blue skies and rainbows,
and dance on the threshold
of every unlocked door.

And each day, we'll walk in the garden,
so that you might pluck from the trees,
the fruit of opportunity,
and enjoy the sweet taste,
of endless possibilities.

Hello Kimberlee. This poem is more for you than for your child. My contribution celebrating new life. I wish you the very best

~Expectant~

Tiny life seeded deep within her grows;
a womb of warmth gathering fluid protects,
as only mother can, her nestling embryo.

No flutter of movement, too young to show
its presence beyond her fertile imagination;
doe-browns, strong fingers, cream-hued toes.

A turbulence of emotional flow
strains her thoughts with expectancy.
Her child a vision through hope's window.

Slumbers she in night of dream and shadow,
awakening to new dawn's gentle palm
inviting peace; she explores a higher plateau,

finding comfort seeded deep within her as life grows.

Music, tonal clear & pure,
Caresses the harshest of curves.

I am a baby,
                                ...hopeless and small,
                                I know not of knowledge,
                                ...I speak not at all,
                                Of things intellectual,
                                ...no reason to care,
                                Of hate and deception,
                                ...I am unaware,
                                Immobile and helpless,
                                ...I cannot survive,
                                If not for assistance,
                                ...I'd be not alive,
                                My needs are unending,
                                ...forever I cry,
                                What am I here for?
                                ...answer me, why?

                You are our future,
                                ...what someday will be,
                                You are an acorn,
                                ...a budding oak tree,
                                Your needs they are simple,
                                ...a mother's sweet milk,
                                A blanket for comfort,
                                ...for skin smooth as silk,
                                You are a dear gift,
                                ...from heavens above,
                                You are an angel,
                                ...a bundle of love,
                                You are the destiny,
                                ...of husband and wife,
                                You are our tomorrows,
                                ...you're our precious life.
