Ok... Well. I have a great challenge. In addition, I need help writing this. I have tried and tried again however, no luck. I am looking for a good poem written to give to a girl asking her to a prom. A friend, who needs help asking this girl, gave me this task. I have had no luck in helping him out. The girl's name is Heather. Anyone that can help me do this or write one would be greatly appreciated. I am having a hard time writing. Thanks. Jer, Thanks for pointing this out to me, though I doubt my form of writing would be that fitted for this. I'll give it a try though! I'll see if I can post it by tonight! What a toughie! ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

It isn't my best, Jer, sorry. It was really difficult, but this is all I came up with. Sorry it's so short. Where the fields run bare and rough Grows a plant blossoming lovelier Than a tender pure heart It's name is hather Touching into our words to find its place Naming the ones like a flowering beauty Heather Should this place, plant and girl be any less special Then another vine would not twist around so Filled with a flowers of cloud white Lacing them through the air, ground, and minds Wide leaves cradling, lush, fragrant Whispering quietly into dreams: "Will you accompany me?" So as the tug of the gentle vine wraps Pulling I must ask you, the flower Which, too, had nearly wrapped fully "Will you accompany me to the prom, Heather?" ~*~*~ - the name Heather is derived from the shrub that often blossoms with pink or white blossoms and grows in rocky places often - the vine is a plant called Stephanotis, with white flowers, and represented "Will you accompany me?" in the language of flowers. ~Astraea< !signature--> "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." Hmmmn, I will have to think on this one Jer! I'll see if I can come up with anything! I'm sure someone out of all of us can help. Alright here's what I came up with.... It shall be a night to remember If I can only share it with you The most beautiful person I know To be at my side the whole night through To dance under God's lights and the stars A special night that we two could share If only you would answer me yes The beautiful girl with chestnut hair Cherished pictures to last forever Of this one special moment in time I'd be happy to share it with you Dance under stars of Heavens sublime Heather would you honor me by accompanying me to the prom? I cannot offer you the moon Only a dance beneath it’s light Nor can I offer you the stars Only an evening of sweet delight Flowers will I give to you Though it pales beside your beauty This request I make to you Out of desire and not duty Will you take a chance with me Make a memory we both can share Please say yes and come with me To the prom, my lady fair. When do you need this completed? If this is not sufficient, I could work more on it.... |
