Solitary Mind 'Tis but a fragment of memory flitting through the morass of what used to be a happy, loving, beautiful mind; a fragment, a name, a face remembered… Gone in the breath of a thought, forgotten almost before it began… eyes stare at the face before them in askance, "I'm sorry, do I know you?" "Have we met." A son, a daughter, a family, friends, lost relations, a lifetime forgotten, life in a world of strangers and flashes of thought, always alone, except when that's forgotten too. 'Tis but a fragment of memory, a smile-lit face, a heavenly thought, such beautiful words touching the heart, a fragment of memory, too quickly forgotten. wesley james beard, jr. © march 2002 [This message has been edited by jwesley (04-26-2002 06:00 PM).] |

JW...this is very touching...I would almost think it is of one is now is old, the memory has faded...possibly from Alzheimer. Such a lonely world it can be within a mind that does not remember. Thanx Jimmy.. |

You put it well, Jimmy, and wrote with heart. It is so sad to see a loved one this way. I can't imagine what it would be like to have it oneself. |

Life can take us and shape us in ways and places we cannot imagine until we are there. You have such experienced emotions to pen, and I am always touched by your truth and gentleness. ThisDiamond |

Very well written, and much enjoyed. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |

Very insightful look into a too common occurence. We lost my father-in-law last year who suffered from the same thing. Alone in his world...looking into what should have been familiar faces, with blank stares. So sad.... Excellent write my friend. ~Hugs~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always dancing with you in the summer rain~ [This message has been edited by Enchantress (04-25-2002 10:48 PM).] |

(tears fall down my cheeks) This is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to your loss and I hope deep down he knows you and everyone will always love him just as he will always guide you with his love! (BIG HUGGSSSSSS) You are a true angel, sweet friend, never change who you are as I know your father wishes you the same and he will never be alone as long as you are there wishing him the best! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is wonderful! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jeff, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

Jimmy this is sadly and hauntingly beautiful on such a difficult subject. You have presented it well. Peace. Like a red brick, |

I know these words. . . I've been there. . . and you communicate it very well Sir. . . well done. . . ------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Martie, can't imagine having it either, nor can I fathom having anyone close to me suffering ( do they suffer the most, or us, I wonder…) from such an affiction. ThisDiamond…thank you very much for your more than gracious comment my friend. Nightshade…I appreciate it very much and glad you stopped in. Enchantress, as always, love hearing from and reading you…thank you. Marge…Thank You…lady! Noah…as always you are too kind, my friend. Thanks. Ecrivan…it is, and I've known a number of people with relations in such a plight…so sad. Thanks for the visit. Greeneyes…PEACE to all of us my friend….if only. Thanks for the visit. G.S. & Seven….as I said, never actually been closely associated with one with Alzheimers, but I don't believe one needs to be closely associated with anybody that's sick, or hurting, in body, mind or spirit, to be empathatic (or however its spelled), and to "feel" for them and their pain. Sure, being the one suffering, or the one intimately close to the sufferer gives you a different and deeper insight, but we can hurt too, from the outside of the circle, for those inside the circle…or at least I do, and that's what I try to write about, quite often…though I never quite seem to put the "feeling" into the piece that I want. Ce-la-vie! Thank you both for your take on this. jwesley [This message has been edited by jwesley (04-26-2002 06:19 PM).] |
