Top Down…Then and Now By Larry Chadwick I rolled up to the door in my 1955 Red Champion, It was a 610 with Jet-Flow Drive. Just parked it right there on the sidewalk, And rang the door bell, I was five. Eager to let her mother know, I was there to pick up my gal. Can Connie come out to play, I wanted to show her to my pal. It wasn’t that far up the block, Which is a good thing with pedal drive. But you gotta know that riding with her, I’d never felt more alive. So there I was cruising with the top down, Convinced that life is really fine. I’ve decided not much has changed, The top is still down and it’s Nancy that is mine! April 21, 2002 It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

Larry, this one brought a morning smile to my face! What wonderful memories you always bring to these blue pages. Thank you for this one! ~Hugs~ *Oh btw, do you call her Nancy, or Nancy Lee? Just curious because no one except family call me by my double name.* |
