There are some that belong together Like the river and the reed One is strong, surging, sure One is resilient and natural against all odds Together they sway and ebb blending forth in current’s course Sometimes the river overflows and drowns the reed Sometimes the reed must search deeper within the drought ridden banks Sometimes they are perfect as a picture with no words only nature’s curse necessary to make them potent to those of us who understand that everything willing to grow to flow will straight through Elysian fields © April 2002 Regina Wood For my friends..J & F..All my love. An excellent observation and superb imagery, as always. A painter of clouds comes to mind and the person the clouds were painted for. Nice work, my friend. Michael |

A lovely and philosophic look through your eyes. Your writing is sterling, as always. I just think I am a rebellious reed. Stick around, will ya? |

Reg, I love natures allegories. And I love your observations. Karen, we must have the same roots! Thanks, Reg. It's never too late to have a good childhood! Woohoo! |

Separate identities, yet together hold so much meaning. An excellent vision, flows with such gentleness. Truly enjoyed, thank you. |

love the flow and the imaging in here, nice message, well stated; the title pulled me in for the read, excellent choice and metaphor think you want 'drought' rather than 'draught' drought=lack of precipitation draughts=checkers Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
