The road still clings to me like the shadow of new light falling through the trees of a lost winters gaze long ago. Some think the beauty of it all comes at a cost of ones soul that has been stretch too far and beyound its means, is lost. Some think of other tragedies as though there are not enough, when all things fail to make the hazards less perfect. And still it comes to me, its quiet contemplation the one true friend of madness that envelopes my thoughts. A cross section of who I was in the last few years of a breakdown in my complex nature of what I wanted, no, needed to become. As though some semblace of truth I see the stars for the first time as I stand, not forgiving my past, but embracing it, and everything. It really has'nt been so cruel though stinging at times, and for those I scream a thank you as my heart awoke again. So giving in to the lasting light of memeories that I cherish, and laughing just a tad, I dress once more in black, and follow no one. And the road still clings to me..... |

Some things never leave us...and the traces left behind are what carries us on. May the wind be at your back as you travel those roads. Beautiful retrospective piece here Michael... the self reflection of your heart is sincerely touching. Take care of you poet of the wind. jm how about how good it feels to finally forgive you |

What a great title followed by your fantastic poem. I like the thought of the road clinging, makes me think of knowing how to manuever the curves without going over the side! I enjoyed this very much!!!! |
