Ba-ba-ba baby I've loved you Like moon, spoon and June No man on this earth is above you But, my ba-ba-ba ba-ah baboon Is another story Some of us poets get lonely No one listens -- not even you So, now, my poems I read only To the monkeys at the zoo And I'm leaving you... ...For my baboon When I read, he begins to swoon Oh, my baboon... Though my new ba-ba baby is hairy And must live in a cage Our love for things literary Makes us stars upon a stage Oh, we shine so bright So, why should I stay home When I can go out and monkey around? Oh, who will hear my poems And realize they are profound? Only my baboon... ...Oh my baboon When I read, he begins to croon Oh, my baboon... ~~~~~~~~~~ This song, written 12-22-01, is based on Ananova.com's story, "Poets pleased with response from baboons," which you will find at http://www.ananova.com/yournews/story/sm_476651.html It's done like a 1950's-type of soft-rock ballad, in 4/4/ time, key of D-Major/B-minor. (And, I really don't need a baboon, I have two dogs!) "I think I go home." |

"The poetry of Lienlaf and Jorge del Río also provoked a response. During both readings the baboons climbed to the top of their tower and began shrieking. The seven poets ended with an epic poem which they read. Mr Zurita said: "There was certainly a profound silence during that piece. At least that's how I remember it." (smiles) WOW!!! Oh my gosh, this is astounding, I believe that every creature on Earth is related to one another and I am delighted to read this wonderful article and your fabulous song, I LOVE IT!!! (smiles) I too hope everyone else reads both your wonderful song and the editorial, awwwwwwww, those baboons must be sooooooo cute! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, your song should be a Billboard hit, I'd love to hear you wail! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
