the day of the trees they stood naked a few days ago scratching at the thunder bellies combing at the under bellies of cumulonimbus today they are coated in shades of green feathers a downiness as they grow toward plumage scents, of green moisture, tickle my nostrils, beckon a sneeze upon a breeze that calls them to dance like swans waltzing above the lake at their toes grasses green-up, and tulips sparkle their dewy smiles in the wiles of spring on their branches feet cling beneath the warbles that sing the love song of warmth in the swarm of season’s harmony ©April 13, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Spring is here! I really enjoyed the part about the trees scratching at the clouds....that was really beautiful and I could imagine it....nicely done. ~sky I'm in charge, and I say question authority! [This message has been edited by skyshine (04-15-2002 10:40 PM).] |

"today they are coated in shades of green feathers a downiness as they grow toward plumage" We don't have the same view today. Our trees got dusted with snow again, and nary a green leaf in sight! Thanks for the spring fling! |

V. Not many I know will dare to use cumulonimbus in their poetry. Thanks for this spring scene. Good to see this kind of passion here. Always enjoy your view of the world around you. e |
