to my niece..enjoy your new abode

I see the family spread
a product of being wed
window views of your parent's block
this is my family stock
an artificial pond
will become a development
as boxes are moved in
I ask where have I been.

sis had kids, they played with doll houses
neighbours move in the row as spouses...
admire the handiwork on stairs
the space of the kitchen
fresh scent of hardwood floors

a floor mat laid out in alphabet letters
for Max your son, to know language better
your house carved out
from sections once wooded
this is my family stock
a stone throw from your parent's block.

This is a sweet lovely poem, Martin...
Theres something special about it...I don't know what it is....maybe that family feeling...anyway.......I really enjoyed it.

Lyra,

it's wonderful when you see kids become adults and take care of themselves, that was the idea..glad you liked it.
