Loving Siblings Forever By Larry Chadwick I once wrote of what I thought I knew, About my son and my daughter too. Having heard their gripes about each other, I was concerned about this sister and her brother. I gave them plenty of advice, And I did it more than once or twice. I thought I had a broken heart, Thinking they were far apart. I mistook the tension in this rivalry, For bad judgment and stupidity. I’ve got brothers and should have known, You can’t assume by what is shown. But now she’s died and gone away, And I was relieved by the truth that day. They’d loved each other all along, It’s just that both their wills were strong. Their bond was always there, And not just because of daddy’s prayer. They adored each other so much more, Then dad could have even hoped for. Now we like to share the memories, And talk about their stubborn victories. But daddy is so much wiser today, Too bad it’s since she went away. June 7, 2002 [This message has been edited by Larry C (06-07-2002 11:12 PM).] |

Larry, I write this with the moist eyes, but with a tender smile. What a wonderful photo of Ginger and Larry Jr, both smiling. Your depth of love for your children will always be tucked away, safely in your heart. Thank you for sharing this with us. |

What beautiful kids Larry. You know I never had siblings but I hung around with a girl who did, and brother did she fight with her brothers, just I think it is natural as when they got older too, just try and say one word about any of them and kaboom! This was a lovely poem about family (and I am a sucker for family poems), really nice. There is nothing means more to me than |

In each and every poem I read that you have written about Ms. Chadwick. I feel as if I know her a million times better. Where there are no real words to show how I feel. Or how you feel for that matter. I believe that if I was deeply emotional towards this whole thing. It must be 10,000 times more emotional for you. I honor you, I am blessed for knowing you. I hope I will always be able to know you. Godbless! I Love You, Kellie |

Very sad but a beautiful tribute and there is always the hope that the grandchildren, or others will be able to learn without the pain from such a poignant poem. |

I think you always knew deep down that there was more behind their rivalry than meets the eye- alot of strong willedness comes from the parent anyway..it is good that you have put words to the common departure of a sibling in a family and expressed it in the way that others can learn from..but then we live to make mistakes too, I'm afraid..so the truth is there will always be silbling rivalries that masks the bond of love. |

ethome, And what a big heart you have. Thanks. blakloks, Nice to meet you and thanks very much. Hope you like it here. It has meant so much to me. Karilea, Thank you as it helps so much to be able to share and to know you care...so much. SiO2, Lessons well learned and shared. Thanks and welcome to Passions. Nice to meet you. Martin, Yup...they proved my theory wrong. I figured different gender and 3 1/2 years apart would eliminate it. LOL Boy was I wrong. |
