~soft~ feather wishes I waited to feel
dressed in the stupor of loving's appeal
yet nothing was heard, no ring came to ears
just ~soft~ feather wishes returning to tears

~soft~ feather wishes once touched, gently so
mornings awakening brought smiles of your know
tomorrows another, long days of ahead
now ~soft~ feather wishes must take to my bed

~soft~ feather wishes 'gainst head pillowed sweet
light once in coming, now dark in retreat
as I turn off the thoughts of what could have transpired
those ~soft~ feather wishes must dream mine, desired
