And the colors of her spill across the page As she writes out her longings, confronts her rage. Her words an emotional kaleidoscope For she stumbles through darkness and still seeks hope. Yellow sunshine she beams on those she calls “friend” Glasses with rose tints sometimes let her pretend That no human heart is so completely black Love can’t fill the void and supply any lack. And that reality leaves her feeling blue - Some endings aren’t happy whatever you do. At times she stays silent, rehearing words said Those days find her eyes weary, bleak and streaked red. But very little keeps her down a long while She gathers her strength, repositions her smile And plays doting grandma to a little boy Who’s her greatest delight and her dearest joy. There are treasured dreams she’s had to pack away As the featured stars deserted her life’s play Her attire should be purple; she’s been a queen In situations that would have turned me green With jealousy and charred my soul into dust Someone threw away her love, bloodied her trust. But a strong faith lit the very darkest night And her heart shimmers gold, she will be all right. A glint of silver may be gracing her hair But her legs still stop traffic and make men stare She’ll act sly and sassy, but if they should wink She’s just as likely to blush furious pink Her fellow one and only just wants to say I hope our jellybeans has a great birthday! And... unlike SOME people I could name... *bratty grin* I got the date right! LOL |

ah lady..... I just ran from building to building to escape the rain got assignments finished while the clock was ticking forgot my lunch, and my money and now I sit here after reading this crying.... it might not be a picture perfect life but at the very least...its not boring *g* and with you as my friend I am enriched beyond measure I love you lady and the poem...its no wonder I ask for your advise so often....you know me better than I know myself...you remember kindly all the things I have found a way to whitewash, you even find a way to make me and all my weaknesses sound likeable *smile* thank you lady for your love and for this gift and yeppers...the day is right...but it wasn't half as much a surprise as mine to you was...*preening*...you ain't never gonna one up me on that one...and sides...you might just have another couple...lol...I love surprises *bg* |

jb: Those AREN'T weaknesses... they're niches that hold me up when I need to lean. *S* There isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for Toe... and Toe for you... or something like that. *G* And ROFLMAO @ you... you're right. *G* Sending birthday wishes ON someone's birthday is so traditional and predictable. *G* But just think... if I tried to write for each of Sybil's personas, I'd need a poem for every day??? LOL Love you... and hope you're celebrating you in spite of rain and hunger. *G* Sunshine & Interloper: The card/poem isn't as special as the lady... but I thank you so much! *S* |

well my son bought me lunch, by accident, he didn't realize it is my bday...but the visit and the burger were nice *smile* and lol@your giggles, glad to return the favor oh...and just so you know...its not sybil's birthday...we have decided that each of us get to pic our own...well cept me...I am stuck with that traditional day you were born thing..... rofg toe...you shush bout any pics...lol sure is good to see you sigh...makes me want for old thrivin' timessven..thank you so much for stopping by and for the hb enchantress, yep suthern is a prize...am lucky to have her...thank you [This message has been edited by jellybeans (06-04-2002 05:19 PM).] |
