The stillness of midnight quiets my mind in slumber sound. Dreams capture my thoughts, or is it the other way around? Sleep comes in bits and pieces, a few short minutes at a time. Morning sun gently wakens me sometimes in a golden rhyme. The words have never been mine. I’ve simply borrowed them from a generous muse, who saw fit to lay them at my feet, as if she were the golden goose. I’ve never struggled to find a word, and the music seems to follow like horses galloping in a closeknit herd, or colors banding together into a rainbow after a caressing heavenly shower. But the stillness of night quiets the mind and soul with music that falls from the clouds after twilight embraces the air, passionate as a lover’s kiss. Then the dreams capture my thoughts. Or is it the other way around? |

OK, maybe I borrowed them from your muse? Peaceful dreams and healing hugs to you. I'll stay up late Tuesday, and you will be in my thoughts on Wednesday. Peace. |

(smiles) I think it can always be both ways around, sweet friend, this is such a gorgeous poem! I too love the peace that midnight gives, though it is not the same situation in this part of the country, for I always feel relaxed and I get such amazing inspiration! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! "The stillness of midnight quiets my mind in slumber sound. Dreams capture my thoughts, or is it the other way around? Sleep comes in bits and pieces, a few short minutes at a time." fantastic! i relate to this so much... but then you probably figured... the stillness of midnight usually extends to the stillness of 3am for me... but that's also why morning never gently wakens me i like the idea in the repeating couplet too. i've never figured out that riddle either. loved this write! I love all of you dreamers! I honestly think you are all rolled into one huge muse keeping me inspired, day and night. And I don't ever try to answer that riddle of the night, I'm just happy that something/someone keeps nudging me. |

Dreams capture my thoughts, or is it the other way around? So often it's been this way in the middle of the night. And it's been cool, you being up, when I'm up...often. I've liked knowing you read my heart in...the stillness of the night. Loved reading yours! Gonna miss ya, Kacy. Forgetting all I'm lacking |

Jim, nice to meet you, and thank you so much for your reply, I am happy you liked that line. Duncan, I'm going to miss hanging out in here (almost every night!) but I promise I will return. Hugs to you, and I'll still pop in as a reader as often as I can, cuz I don't want to miss your wonderful poetry. |

It's hard to know the other way around when the words have been placed at your feet. That was a lovely thought, both of them, and all of this. What a wonderful gift you have been given. |

Hey there Blues, thank you for your generous words. I've read enough of your poetry to know you have a magical way with words and imagery, so I really do appreciate you complementing mine. |
