Do you watch me as I write
On these pages stained in tears
Did you think I would forget you
After so many wonderful years

Do you watch me as I grieve
And see my heart break in two
Do you read the words I write
About how much I still love you

Please tell me what you're thinking
Dad, have I made you proud
Was that your image I just saw
Behind that big white cloud

Do you smile down upon me
From heaven up above
When the rain falls down on me
Are you showering me with your love

Are you that blackbird in my garden
Who sings a sweet melodious song
Are those your arms I feel around me
Do you help me to be strong

I see your image in so many things
And remember your heart so warm and true
How fond I am of my memories
Of all the times I spent with you

Pictures of you adorn my home
Your image smiles at me each day
You're still a big part of my life
Within my heart you'll always stay

I hope the words I write
Reflect the love I have for you
I hope others have formed an image
From the words that they view

Please don't leave me lonely
Keep the candle burning bright
'tho life is sometimes out of focus
You'll always be my guiding light

Please keep me safe in your memory
For once again there'll be us two
In that place way over the rainbow
Eternally united me and you

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sue, my heart about broke reading this, sweet friend, you are a true angel as your dad is and while things may not feel the same, I know deep down with all my heart he is watching over you from up above, as his love is all around you, for I know he is the rain that always makes your garden lush and sparkling with life and every butterfly that kisses the flowers and every rainbow that encourages you with a smile to go on as his love is always in your heart! (BIG HUGGGSSSSSSSS) My thoughts are with you, sweet friend, I'm always here if you need someone to talk too, God Bless You, you have one of the most loving hearts in all the world, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sue, I believe your Dad is watching over you...
so very proud of everything you do.
This is so beautiful, yet sad.

Sue:  I think your Dad is watching over you and approves of who you are and what you do. Not only that, he's proud!  My dad has been gone for many years, but I still feel that unbreakable tie to him and always will. I'm sure it's the same for you and your dad.

Awwww Sue! I believe he is watching over you. And that blackbird in your garden is him singing to you.

Sue, I know that he knows ... and deep in your heart you know, too.  Just look at the wonderful words you weave for and about your father.  Therein lie your answers

Sue

You started this off with such beautiful inquiring questions from the heart and then went into some wonderful reflections on memories that never die.......
He lives in your words!!
Nice writing tightly metered with good rhyme schemes!

Gosh, I am positive that your Dad can see you and is with you every second of the day and night. It is just heartbreaking how much you miss him. He must have been a wonderful, loving man. I am envious, as I never had a good relationship with my Dad.  Hugs, Marti

Sue,
You know how I love your poetry about your father. I feel well qualified to identify many reasons for your dad to proud of how you live your life and express through poetry is influence on your life. he would be so proud. Trust me...there is no risk of any other response. You would make any father proud. I know.

He lives within you, and in every rosebush in your garden, and in all your poetry.
Beautifully written, Sue.
