Skippy dog and I went out for a run underneath the earliest morning sun. He wanted to run fast, full speed ahead, with me he took a slow leisurely stroll instead. Then Skippy dog did spy two dragon(s)fly by cruising at low altitude 80mph in northern sky. They were searching for skeeters, the terrorists of the north. And Skippy knew he could catch them. But it was Catch 22.... he was on a leash, the leash kept him grounded and he was confounded, a terrier...out-hounded??? Those dragonflies turned 'round and looked him square in the face, and laughed at his effort, it wasn't even a fair race! The jaws of poor Skippy scowled in disbelief, a terrier outfoxed by dragonflies, Good grief!!! "Can't you run any faster?" Won't you please set me free? No self-respecting terrier would let a dragon fly free!" But alas, this old lady said "Just let them be!" So Skippy dog left with his tail hanging down, hoping no other dogs were around to see him drown in such dog-faced misery. "I'm sorry, Skippy. But God meant for dragons to be free, just the same as you and me." |

~still chuckling at the terrifying and sweat-inducing horrific thought of 80 mph dragonflys!~ ah, KC, but not JUST dragonflys need to be free.... everything has that right (except for my cat, Batman. He is a prisoner of love *smileI* what a pleasant poem to thoroughly enjoy, each line a candy apple to enjoy and smile at! tSR/jeff |

LOL, Jeff, free the Batman! But being a captive of Love cannot be a bad thing. Thanks for reading, it's a basically true story, except I may have exaggerated a bit on the dragonfly speed, and of course, Skippy doesn't really talk out loud. (but don't tell him that) |

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, this is soooooo cute, sweet friend, I smiled just thinking of that sweet little boy and the cute puppy Skippy and how Skippy smiled back at the dragonflies and just played with them happily! (kiss on cheek) This is gorgeous, sweet friend, I love the morale of this story, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Right about now aren't you glad he's not a Mastiff. If he was you'd be able to think of this poem in Alaska and write it in Washington. He he I had to smile when I read this. God I wouldn't want one of those helicopters to run into me at 80 miles per hr. That would surely cause a cranial cramp. I saw film today that stated there were dozens of isolated villages in Alaska that were only accessible by air...approx 70,0000 pop. in those villages. Wow what a way to live. Some of the film clips from the airplanes were utterly breath taking....those mountains and valleys like nothing else on earth....sorry to ramble on so! Have a nice day! |

Midnite I really enjoyed this...I love my pets and have written some of their antics in poetry as well. Thanks so much for this clever write and the smile you gave with it! Give Skippy a pat for me. |

Noah, what cute little boy? It's OK, I realize it's usually the little boys that run with the doggies and chase dragons. Sunshine, glad to put a smile on your face. Skippy says thanks. Eric, LOL, you're right, a Mastiff would have had me face down in the dirt. James, he eats cats for lunch. Martie, aren't critters antics the funniest? Skippy is a Jack Russell, and he also break dances and rolls under pillows and blankets, then drags them around the room like a trophy. It's sad, but I have to find a new home for him, he barks too much when I'm gone, and I'll soon be in an apartment, instead of this old house and barn that is 2 acres away from the nearest neighbor. *sigh* |
