What a beautiful memory for you !!!! I started writing at an early age too, but my brothers teased me so much about it that I would hide mine in the back of old teddy bear. Sweet memories are to be cherished!! Thanks for the reminder ! Kitty |

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, this is such a gorgeous tribute to your loving and wonderful dad, sweet friend, I know he will always be blessed to have such a loving and angelic daughter...you! (kiss on cheek) My hero who taught me to write poetry is my 10th grade tacher Mr. Ernewein, who actually was born in Belgium and he oved to America when he was 8, where he went through a childhood of grief just as I have. Though I was able to read ever since I was 3 years old, I never knew how to express myself and my teacher grew up to become strong and learn to write and he taught me that I should never be ashamed of what I feel and express it openly! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! May love and light always shine upon you! Lyra My dad was a writer...I know I got my love of words from him also. I have some treasures of his, kept in paper, also in my heart. This was very special for me to read. Thank you hugs! |

This is sweet Lyra, what a lifelong joy he left you with. My Dad gave me the joy of reading, as he was a partner in some bookshops when I was little and always brought me home lots of books. (on another note, he tried to teach me to cook, something that I steadfastly refused to learn!! Lol) Everything is possible in the game of life |

Thanks so much, Kitty... Never let anyone tease you about doing what you love to do. But, I guess if you had to hide them, a teddy bear would be a great protector. My husband is a teddy bear. ~ teddy bear hugs Lyra |

Thanks so much, Noah...it sounds as if you had a wonderful teacher... and he was certainly right about teaching you to never be ashamed of expressing yourself....and you, certainly do that very very well. ~ hugs of poetic expression Lyra |

Thanks so much, Tracey...our parents usually try to leave us with a legacy which will remind us of them.... LOL the cooking... My Dad was a pharmacist and he tried to talk me into being one also, but I hated chemistry so much...well, at least he did leave me with a love of words! ~ hugs of legacy Lyra |

My parents were readers...my grandmother an Avid Reader...to punish her, they took her books away...I know that my grandmother wrote one poem [for sure] possibly more... I don't know where my love of writing came from, only that I have always wanted to do "it"... I'm so glad you have it all figured out...and [nudge nudge] I sure would like to see that first poem of yours.... |

Thanks for your reply, Karilea...but that first poem is really embarassing and besides its on the inside cover of a hard covered book, so it would be pretty hard to post the whole book here... ~ old poetry hugs Lyra |
