On Hair There is still the little one inside solemnly remembering how hairstyles matured the woman, or was it how a mature woman wore hairstyles? Oh, the little one waits for those days of maturity to wind and bind hair up and women see oh yes she is ready and men see a fine neck ready for… well…yes… On hair… there is the phrase, letting one’s hair down and oh! to unpin clips and let loose the tresses then stretch to roll one’s neck, gently tossing back strands of auburn or gold, or titian hair, a strand or two left toward the front to trail down to show curves how curves lay… well…yes… ahem. On hair… Times and tides dictate to all men, and all women… so men have no time to groom, and let their hair grow long, and women have no time for ministrations and have theirs cut short… short does not allow for letting one’s hair down and therein lies a woman’s problem, for when she cannot let her hair down and feel again her woman tresses slip through her fingers let alone his fingers… when she cannot relax and speak her mind behind curves hiding curves she tends to hold more in than she thought… for there could be no time to relax if one isn’t given a time to let one’s hair down… perhaps it’s time to allow strands to grow to lengths again that require a hairpin… then its un-letting… a reason to raise arms high then finger silver tresses… there should be no age that one shouldn’t be able to let one’s hair down before she listens to her heart... ~*~ ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 29 May 2002 |

WOW!!! Oh my gosh, this is such an interesting and wonderfully creative write, sweet friend, I guess to let ones hair down contributes to the definition of a good hair day so to speak! (smiles) I agree with what you say here, sweet friend, I have never thought of hair this way before, I too always find a sense of freedom when hair is let down, I am growing mine out right now, this is excellent, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Even though hair is a subject that I don't have much personal experience with (my own, which is departing rapidly into the dark abyss of baldness)... Hair is a very sensual part of a woman.. and when she does... when she lets her hair down..... Katie...bar the door...cause Magnus is comin'.... so to speak... This is an incredible poem....I could see every sensual move, feel every thought.. EXCELLENT! Simply excellent! |

Karilea Yup, you got that right! There is some things that time and style just can't change. I have been letting mine grow for three years from short. Sometimes it is aggravating and I have to hide the scissors, but mostly, I'm glad. |

All of the aggravation of letting my hair grow out is now gone. I shall tape this to my mirror, so that when I feel like smashing the brush into it, I'll know why I'm not cutting it off again, even though I gotta keep those dryer fabric sheets in the drawer cause I've got enough static in my hair to run the television. Yep, mornings are dang scary around here. Beautifully done, Sunshine! |

Karilea, now this...this is very cleverly done ya know?? Sure you do...and as for hair... I've had the long and short of it and for now anyway....this is how it's stayin. Just wish in the humidity it weren't so unruly. I love the way you told this as though you were giving a talk on hair and your mind kept trailing off..... ~Hugs~ |

This is splendid and wonderfully worded. I think that maybe some changes in your line breaks might add clarity. This is - oh - so - good. Shenachie |

Tonnes of enjoyment reading this poem, it is more like an essay written on hairdo . I didn't know women are so troubled with their hair. Being a male, I never really cared about my own hairstyle much - James |

No, Noah, don't be letting your hair grow...it'll just clog the sink...thanks for the read... Magnus, I'll take your excellent and allow you a cinnamon roll... Martie...playing with the idea of letting it grow again...and of course, there are the scissors... icequeen, what a wonderful comment from someone who is just getting to know the PiP family...thank you! Enchantress, I'm still looking for my mind..have you seen it? Bridget, I shall bring this to the next meeting - bring your trusty red pen! Ethome, that you came in to read means I shall forgive you for just about anything...pass the hairbrush... DS, I enjoyed myself in this, too, even though my mind wandered a bit... jamesjiao, I don't know that a lot of women are necessarily concerned about their hair much any more myself...I guess I'm from the old school...where grooming mattered...thanks for the eyes... Nan...it liked me too! So glad you came in! Interloper...I don't see your initials anywhere... Startime...as are you. Thank you! |

short does not allow for letting one’s hair down I love this uniquely beautiful poem, Karilea... but I disagree with you on one thing... I think women with short hair always have their hair down, because there is no way they can pin it up.... I have always found short hair to be very liberating. ~ hairy hugs Lyra |

I love this one, Sunshine... I smiled every time thoughts wandered down sensual paths only to meet another ahem. *G* I work with a lot of women working in what is still mostly a man's world and a quick glance into an office sometimes isn't enough to recognize gender... but while my hair will never be long and luxurious, I can't make myself opt for the "professional" super short! |
