My Angel


Slowly creeping to the edge
On my knees terrified

I peek my eyes over the rocky ledge
All the more horrified

On the the edge I look straight down
Feeling death upon me

I sudden breeze comes over me
I feel like I can fly

I go to jump off but a whisper stops my feet
A whisper in the wind

The whisper had the voice of an angel

And she told not to jump
So I fell back on the grass lying like a lump

I heard the voice once again
Telling me to open my eyes

Slowly my lids come open
And i find to my surprise
My wife is right above me
Holding me tight with tears in her eyes
Saying thank god you're alive
